Streak Replaces Andy Flower as Zimbabwe Captain
August 5, 2000 - 0:0
LONDON Strike bowler Heath Streak has taken over from Andy Flower as Zimbabwe captain for the two-test home series against New Zealand in September and October.
The announcement was posted on the Zimbabwe Cricket Union's official Website on Friday.
Streak, the most successful bowler in Zimabwe's short test history, has taken 129 wickets in 31 matches.
Flower, an outstanding wicketkeeper-batsman, captained Zimbabwe on their first Tour of England this year. Zimbabwe lost the two-test series 1-0.
Streak was his vice captain on a tour which was adversely affected by the troubled political situation at home and a players' revolt over pay.
